Choose a subnet from the Local Subnet combo box and click the Start button or F5 to execute scan. Colasoft MAC Scanner will display scan results in the list, including IP address, MAC address, Host Name and Manufacture. It will group all IP addresses according to MAC address if a MAC address is configured with multiple IP addresses.
Colasoft MAC Scanner is used for scanning IP address and MAC address. It can automatically detect all subnets according to the IP addresses configured on multiple NICs of a machine and scan the MAC addresses and IP addresses of defined subnets.

Destaddr= or -T Send the packets to Ethernet MAC address This sets the 48-bit destination address in the Ethernet frame header. The default is the broadcast address ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff. Most operating systems will also respond if the ARP request is sent to their MAC. This command will scan your network from 192.168.0.1 to 255 and will display the hosts with their MAC address on your network. In case you want to display the mac address for a single client, use this command make sure you are on root or use 'sudo' sudo nmap -Pn 192.168.0.1 this command will display the host MAC address and the open ports.
